Empty Mile
You know this road, you've driven it a hundred times, half asleep, radio low, thinking about dinner or work or troubles or colleagues.
But not tonight.
Tonight, the fog rolls in thick, and the cars ahead of you aren't moving. Not stalled, blocked or pulled over, just... still, doors shut, nobody's here.
The flashlight in your hand flickers while you explore this mile that stretches longer than you remember.
There are pages scattered along the road, a small sign that you are not alone, for good or worst.
Keep walking and keep the light on.
Known issues / feedback
This is a small, short, in-progress project, that take about 5 to 10 minutes to complete. Also, it's a walking simulator.
A few things worth knowing before you play:
- Gamepad: even if it should work, the pointer lock (mouse look) won't activate on some browsers. I am still investigating why.
- Some testers complains that in certain browser it's unplayable. I am sorry Alan Turing, I failed you one more time...
- I am still extremely green with three.js so there may be some performance issues and other horrorific events that are not the planned horrorific events.
- Bug reports, obviously, are welcome: what happened, what you were doing, a screenshot if you've got one, but I won't complain if feedbacks are on pacing, scares and the ending, that side of things is still being tuned.
Spoilers (Plot)
Empty Mile is my personal love letter to the SCP Foundation, whose eerie tales and dread have long captivated my imagination. Building this silly simple game was a chance to translate that fascination into something playable, who tries to capture the unsettling atmosphere of stepping into the unknown.
Thanks for playing.

Cool ending, I like it!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA It's horrifying. Don't judge, I'm easily scared.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA there's blood!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA yeah, I can't keep going. Great concept though, could be a full game with some extra game mechanics! :)
Hi Leafy, feedback acknowledged. Thanks, really appreciated.
By the way have you ever considered... perhaps... avoiding horror games altogether? :D
:D I mainly play mascot horror like Fnaf.
Well here it works for me too so perhaps it’s my browser who has problems. Great result btw.
Usually beta testers signals REAL errors, not fake ones 😂 … well, thanks for the help
Thanks, it was way more complex than anticipated, but I'm glad you enjoyed it.
