Side chess
Humanity spent 1,500 years perfecting chess and now... let's look at it from a completely useless different angle.
Side Chess is an almost-fully functional chess game played on a standard board, except you're viewing it from the side.
Select a piece, pick a move, try to remember where your enemies are.
Fail.
Repeat.
This is the most important chess innovation since Deep Blue. Possibly, more important-er.
FEATURES
- En passant, castling, promotion, somehow implemented, still completely unplayable.
- Play against a limited "AI" (that barely works) or challenge a friend on the same screen (shared suffering is encouraged)
- Live commentary that judges your every move
- A funny background music to accompany your confusion
- Download your game as a move list to prove to people this actually happened (and help me with debug, )
WHAT'S NEW
Time to show some love to the less-loved chess simulator ever:
- Advanced AI mode. Turned the dial past "random moves across the 2d board." It actually plays now! Well... a bit. Turns out AI is hard, but it should give you a decent challenge, assuming you can play at all.
- Readable font option. One tap shifts the text to OpenDyslexic font. The game will still be confusing, but the text won't.
- A fresh coat of paint. No more neon assault, same chaos, easier on the eyes. With the text size slider and the different palette I ensured this chaotic nightmare is equally accessible to all.
Let me know what you think...
