Zhamortalzha
A downloadable game
A transmission. A ritual. A meaning.
In 1983, a forgotten branch of the SETI project briefly intercepted a repeating signal from a region of deep space with no known stars. The short transmission contained no known language, only looping symbols, structured triads and glyphs.
Then, as suddenly as it began, the signal ceased, leaving only static and two unanswered question: what is it? And who sent it?
It was quickly dismissed as noise, until, years later, an old researcher with an insane fixation noticed a pattern....
--------------------------------------
Zhamortalzha is a short one-page game with a lexical kink.
It has no english words.
Its rules are encoded in an alien syntax, odd, unusual, yet decipherable.
The text is almost intact and the structure complete.
No translation is provided, but is available upon request.
Yet. the neverending amaze of discovery is the whole point.
-----------------------------------------
It is also my first experiment with this kind of puzzle game, as a part of the italian monthly event il Vecchio Carnevale Blogghereccio... roughly translated as Ye Olde Carnival of personal scrolls (yes, there is a manifesto ). The may theme, is, you guess it... aliens!
Please let me know if you enjoy it or want to see more stuff like this.
